We need your help. In 2026, we will double again, and this means that we need to both hire a lot more engineers and bring on many more operators and entrepreneurs to drive new directions at Amodo.

This year, we’ve started using the strapline “building the 21st century’s most important hardware”. We don’t take that lightly. Impact is a long-tailed distribution, and some problems are much more important than others to work on. In 2026, we’re expanding our team to add more capacity to think expansively about important domains like AI verification, biosecurity, robotics, and new models for running ambitious scientific R&D projects.

In future posts, we’ll talk about how we’re thinking about approaching hardware R&D as AI systems become more powerful, and new funding models we’re experimenting with that allow us to massively accelerate academic and industrial research programmes. But for now, we have one focus: hiring.

We’re hiring

Naturally, we’re hiring for dozens more engineering positions across electronics, FPGA, mechanical engineering, firmware, software, physics, HPC engineering, and DevOps. But on top of that, we’re hiring for a few really exciting, highly leveraged positions:

Why these are the most exciting roles in the country

We think that these are some of the most exciting and ambitious roles anywhere in the UK. We’ve doubled year on year and now need a lot more capacity to strategise and drive new verticals beyond the founding team. In our 2026 plans presentation, we used this diagram to explain how we’re thinking about the structure of our team.

  • A strong foundation in operations and internal product. This is what makes us an effective capital to R&D progress machine

We’re hiring leads for these pillars. These leads will be responsible for directing a few million dollars of R&D effort, either working directly with our clients or running their own budget that we’ve received from grant funders. You’ll work closely with our world-class team of engineers, collaboratively shaping the direction of Amodo.

You’ll start by operating within our existing business models and funding relationships. Over time, you’ll explore new ways to operate, find new clients and funders, and help us grow a generational company that is truly building the 21st century’s most important hardware.

On top of field leads, we are hiring entrepreneurs and ambitious operators to join the team. You’ll support our founding team, find leveraged opportunities within Amodo, and ultimately might:

  • Identify new fields where Amodo can work
  • Support the expansion of existing fields
  • Help start Amodo’s product business, including running spinouts
